Branchpipes provide an adjustable nozzle for altering the curtain of water from a narrow spray to a wide spray. Nozzles provide a fixed jet of water.
The basic branchpipe according to BS 336 has an 2 1/2" inlet male instantaneous and outlet threaded 1 1/3" BSP male for either a plain jet or a branchpipe adjustable nozzle.
The branchpipe is controlled from 'shut off' through 'jet' and 'spray' to wide-angle 'curtain' by rotating the annular sleeve.
